A downloadable mod

Carrompool is a combined tabletop game concept, that blends the rules and gameplay of Carrom and Pool. Played on a modified Carrom board with miniature Pool cues, this game combines strategic placement and aiming  with the flat, wooden disks and smooth table of Carrom. It's designed to be accessible and enjoyable for players familiar with either game, which can be placed flat on the ground or on a table. This game offers a unique twist and different feel that challenges how the players play a game of both Carrom and Pool, with different dimensions, materials and motion.

Game Board and Pieces

  •  The game is played on a Carrom-sized board, modified to be rectangular, with pockets similar to a pool table.
  • The playing pieces are small, flat and slightly heavy. These Carrom disks include:
    • 1 Striker (light blue)
    • 7 Carrom men (white)
    • 7 Carrom men (black)
    • 1 Queen (red)
  • Each player uses a miniaturized pool cue to strike the disks.

Objective

The objective is to pot all of one's own Carrom men and the Queen into the pockets before the opponent does.

Setup

  • The Carrom men are arranged in the center of the board in a triangular pattern, with the Queen at the center of the third row.
  • Players decide which color Carrom disks that would like and who will strike first.

Rule Set and Game Mechanics:

1. Starting: Players take turns using their cues to hit the striker, aiming to pocket their Carrom men into any of the 6 holes.

2. Turns and Scoring:

  • If a player pockets a Carrom man, they take another turn.
  • If a player pockets the Queen, they must cover it by pocketing one of their Carrom men in the next shot, or the Queen is returned to the center.

3. Fouls:

  • Pocketing an opponent's Carrom man gives the opponent a free shot.
  • Pocketing the striker also results in a free shot for the opponent.
  • Receiving 3 fouls in a row results in one of the player's previously pocketed Carrom men being returned to the board.

4. Winning:

  • The first player to pocket all of their Carrom men and the Queen wins.
  • When the player has one piece left, they must pocket the Queen first and their last Carrom man by pocketing directly after to cover the Queen.
  • If the Queen is not covered, it goes back to the center of the board, along with the player's piece, and the game continues until it is legally pocketed.
